Congratulations!

What a big congratulations to the Grade 3-5 Choir for performing so beautifully at the 50th Anniversary Assembly at Athlone on Thursday! Students had a very short time to learn the song and some students even had it memorized! I am so proud of you and I know this year is going to be a great year of making beautiful music together!

Thanks for a great start to the school year!!

Hello and Welcome from Mrs. Dunk!

Welcome to the Athlone Music Room Blog!

I am the new music teacher at Athlone. I am excited to be involved in helping students find and continue developing their love for music at Athlone!

I have been involved in music since I was a small girl. I started piano lessons at age 5 and have been teaching piano since I was 14! I loved building relationships with my piano students and that's when I realized I wanted to be a music teacher. I also sing in a choir known as Horizon, part of Prairie Voices Inc. I love teaching choir and am excited to have started rehearsing with the Grades 3-5 Choir at Athlone starting on September 18th at lunch.

Athlone Grade 3-5 choir rehearsals we be every Day 3 at lunch and attendance of every member is mandatory. Everyone's attendance is necessary in order for the success of our group! Thank you for encouraging your son or daughter to participate in the choir this year! It will be fun!

Stay tuned regarding the primary Grade 1/2 Choir this year at Athlone as well! More details will follow in a few weeks.

I love dancing and enjoy running in various marathons and triathlons around the city. Being active is important to me in my personal life as well as keeping active and moving in the music room.

Please stay tuned on our school blog for any important updates and to see what we are up to in the music room!

This year, our winter musical will be held on Thursday, December 10th. Stay tuned for more information regarding our concert this year!

Thank you for your continued support in the arts at Athlone! I look forward to getting to know everyone this year!

I'm looking forward to this wonderful music-making year ahead!

Musically yours,

Mrs. Jordanna Dunk
